warm wishes

Hey crafty friends... hope you're having a great week.  I'm happy that we are not doing anything Valentine's related over at Seize the Birthday! ;) (Thanks Nancy!) Just think it's a bit of a Hallmark holiday and think we should celebrate love (for our friends/family/partners) all the time. Ok, rant over.  We are doing coffee/tea as a topping/option this week.  This was a bit of a challenge for me and I'm not 100% happy with it but here it is.  There are enamel accents on the whipped cream (because who wouldn't want whipped cream on their coffee) and black band on the cup.

Hope you can play along with us this week!  Be sure to stop by the blog and give some love to our guest Kristie and the rest of the team.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a terrific day!

make a wish

Happy February!  What?!? How has a month of 2018 passed already?  Hope you're doing well and settling into the new year.  This week at Seize the Birthday, we are featuring candles. This stressed me out a bit because I don't have a lot of candy stamps and exactly zero candle dies.  So I decided to build some candles. I wrapped the paper around a small pencil and then used some double sided tape seal them up. I clipped some small sections of string, put some double sided tape on the end and then used some tweezers to put them inside the candles.

Hope you can play along with use this week!  Be sure to check the blog for all the details and give some love to Kristie and the rest of the design team.

Thanks for stopping by and have a terrific day.

Losing the layers

Happy Thursday crafty friends! We are doing one layer cards over at Seize the Birthday this week.  I love making single layer cards and I think I've 'mostly' accomplished this with this card.  Does my birthday pop-up count as a layer?  I'm considering it a 'pseudo' layer - haha.  I was inspired by this Christmas tag that I made.

Hope you can play along with us!  Check out the details on the blog and give the DT and Kristie some crafty love!

Thanks for stopping by!  Always appreciate your comments.  Have a terrific day and wonderful weekend.

Happy 2018!

Happy 2018 crafty friends!  Hope all is well in your world!  Welcome back to the Seize the Birthday challenge.  We are taking it easy on you this week (a.k.a. it is a topping-free week) so hope you get a chance to play along.  I have to admit that I was happy about this cause after all those Christmas cards I made (check out my Instagram account to see some), I just wanted to make an easy birthday card!

We said goodbye to team member Patti in November (was sad to see her go) but am happy to welcome new team member (who I've met in person!) Lindsey to the team.  Also, we are welcoming the talented Kristie to join us as our Surprise Party Guest for the next couple of months.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a terrific day!

Playing with washi II

I couldn't resist making another tag today for Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags.  This one is inspired by one of the Concorde & 9th tags from day 14. I again using my new gift - the happy happy happy set from Lawn Fawn (as well as their snowflake dies).

I have a busy few days coming up but hopefully I'll get to make a few more tags.

Thanks for stopping by!  Always appreciate it :).

Today's tag for Tracey's 25 days of Christmas Tags is inspired Kimber's cool tag on day 17. A friend sent me this Lawn Fawn set & dies as a gift so couldn't resist using it.

I really like how this turned out and think I might do some 'mass production' of this one. Plus it's a great way to use up some of the masses of washi tape I have.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends!  Have a great weekend.

Welcome to the last Seize the Birthday challenge of 2017!  Wow, that's hard to believe.  This year seems to have flown by.  This week we are have a theme of monochromatic for our birthday cards. I know you'd suspect red from me but went with green.  Hope you like it!

Hope you have a chance to play along with us.  If not, we'll see you again in January!  Please stop by the blog to check out the rest of the DT creations.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Hope you have a terrific day and wonderful weekend.

Playing with glitter

All this Christmas stuff is almost too much for me (I'm a "Christmas in December only" kind of person)... but I am having way too much fun making these tags inspired by Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags!  This tag was inspired by Tracey's stunning tags on day 7.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Playing with splatter II

My second tag today has a similar colour scheme to the first one.  It's inspired by Svitlana Shayevich's wonderful tag on day 5 of Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags. I find it interesting how I'm so drawn to the lovely neutral colours as my normal trend is like bright and bold designs.

Thanks for stopping by.  Happy crafting.

Surprise!  I have another tag for you today for Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags.  This one was inspired Erum Tasneem's gorgeous tag on day 5. I really like how the white spatter looks on the kraft tag. The silver is a glamorous little touch. It also reminds me again that I don't have any start dies - lol.  This is done with a stencil, paste and glitter.

Hope you get to play along with the fun.
Have a great day,

Playing in the snow II

Here's another one for Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags.  I was inspired by Kim and Cornelia's tags on day 15.  I'm using 2 things for the first time on this tag - the snowflake dies from Lawn Fawn (a gift from a friend last year) and Broken China Distress Oxide Ink.

I'll be back tomorrow with a couple more tags.  Hope you're having a great day.  Thanks for stopping by.

Playing in the snow

Thankfully there isn't any real snow here but I'm having fun with snowy themed paper crafts.  I'm officially warning you that there will be a lot of Christmas tags showing up on my blog this week!  I've had way too much fun looking through the tags at Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags.  This one is inspired by Lindsey's tag from day 15.   This Paper Smooches snowman is so freakin' cute! I've put black enamel accents on the hat and the eyes.

Happy Monday! Thanks for stopping by!

Playing tag II

I didn't realize how addictive making Christmas tags would be... but there is so much inspiration over at Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags! This one is pretty CAS and inspired by Flora Monika Farkas' beautiful tag on day 5. I used the 'left over' star from the silver snow flake from my previous tag.

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope you get a chance to play along with the fun too.

Playing tag

Hi!  I'm straying far from my norm and making some Christmas tags! It's not my strong suit but I'm having fun with it.  It's also a bit early to be talking about Christmas for me - lol.  If you ever need any inspiration for Christmas tags, be sure to check out Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags!  She has some fabulous designers and great prizes.  Of course, her tags are pretty amazing as well!  The one I'm sharing today is inspired by Jeanne Jachna's gorgeous tag on day 3. Mine is a little more low key but I really like how it turned out.  The top snowflake is silver foil but the lighting doesn't really show that very well.  Make not that there is a 'star' in the middle of the snow flake.  I've made use of that star on another tag that I will share soon. The snowflake underneath is vellum.  Prying that out of the die without tearing it was definitely a challenge!

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you're having a great day.
